Seedlings

We are a producer of seedlings for resale and own planting.

Seedlings of Norwegian spruces and prickly (silver) spruce are grown by us from seed. For the first two years the young plants grow in furrows, covered with mesh shading, regularly weeded, fertilized and watered. After they grow in the second year, seedlings are set in furrows. In the following years after, the material 2 / 1s or 2 / 2s (the next selection) is suitable for planting in the plantation.

 

Fir Seedlings (2/0 material) comes from the best nurseries in Europe (Dortmund, Hamburg, Kolding). The Purchased seedling is then selected and seeded and nurtured with scarifies. The following year, at the end of the growing season, the material is ready for planting.

 

In the case of spruce and fir seedlings left in the nursery for the fourth year, the root is cut back in order to grow more efficiently. After this period, we obtain material 2/2.
